BMW drives in updated 5 Series sedan in India at Rs 62.9 lakh
On June 24, 2021 by AjayLuxury car manufacturer BMW announced on Thursday the launch of an updated version of its 5 Series sedan in India, with prices starting at Rs 62.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The locally produced model offers a petrol variant, the BMW 530i M Sport, priced at Rs 62.9 lakh, and two diesel variants, the BMW 530d M Sport and BMW 520d Luxury Line, priced at Rs 63.9 lakh and Rs 71.9 lakh, respectively.
The new iteration of the BMW 5 Series introduces several enhancements, including features like remote-control parking, head-up display, reversing assistant, parking assistant, and gesture control. BMW Group India President Vikram Pawah stated, “For 50 years, the BMW 5 Series has enjoyed an unrivaled position globally and has set the benchmark in sheer driving pleasure. This iconic business athlete has now evolved to be younger and smarter.”
The BMW 530i, equipped with a 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, delivers a maximum output of 252 hp and peak torque of 350 Nm, achieving 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 6.1 seconds. The BMW 520d, featuring a 2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, boasts a maximum output of 190 hp and peak torque of 400 Nm, with 0-100 kmph acceleration in 7.3 seconds.
Additionally, the BMW 530d, powered by a 3-litre 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine, produces a maximum output of 265 hp and peak torque of 620 Nm, making it the fastest car in the executive sedan segment with a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 5.7 seconds. The new BMW 5 Series is positioned as an individualist within the premium executive segment, embodying a blend of luxury and cutting-edge technology.
